Montreal's Museums is the psychedelic, shoegaze, indie-rock project of Ali Kouri, Nic Barkun, Anthony Kameka, and Lou Raskin. Their music is characterized by impulsive, evocative vocals coupled with dense, layered guitars, distortion, and driving drums. Despite being a young band, Museums has performed in venues across Québec, Ontario, Germany & the Netherlands, in notable spaces such as Festival sur le Canal, Rirkrit Tiravanija’s untitled 1996 installation at Fondation PHI and Nuit Blanche for Montréal Boréal. They were also awarded a fully-funded sound recording residency at ArtHaus in Toronto, which took place in January 2025. In 2024, Museums released their debut EP, Sink Your Teeth in My Brain.

The band is set to release their next single, ”In Waves”, on April 25th on Petit Village Records.

Following 2024's Sink Your Teeth In My Brain EP, "In Waves" marks a new evolution to Museums' eclectic musical dynamics, adding new layers, both emotional and sonic, to the band’s impressive pallet.

The confluence of sound emerging from Museums has every part locked into place effortlessly like a rolling tide, washing over and over, only to reveal Ali Kouri’s evocative & heartfelt lyrics that tell universal truths about feeling stuck, while watching everyone else go by…the ebb and flow of being in constant motion and yet simultaneously stuck in one place.

Second single “UR Best” follows on May 30th!
